Catfish Suprise
The great thrill of fishing is that you may not always know what is at the end of your line!
The waters are so full of many different species, that you may be surprised when you reel in your catch!
We were fishing for large mouth bass, and having great luck. My wife and I had caught several large mouth bass that day. We continued to fish and I latched on to a big one! I was prepared for a very nice large mouth. It was putting up quite a fight! As I cranked it closer to the boat I started to change my mind that it was a bass. It splashed and created quite a comotion in the water.
As I got it to the side of the boat, it was no large mouth! It was a giant cat! (whiskers I call them) It was about three feet long! It had to be over 25 pounds!
That was the biggest cat I had ever caught by this point. I was quite surprised!
I caught the huge monster on a night crawler with a plain bobber! I had my line set deep into a mound of thick weeds.
That was a great fishing day!

Fishing for Musky
If you love to fish and you love to catch something that is going to put up a fight, then fish for musky! They are an aggressive fish, which makes it a real sport to catch.
You can usually find musky in marshes and weedy banks, in the early spring . In the spring, this is usually where they spawn. In mid summer, to early fall, you can find them in beds of lilly pads and other floating leaf vegetation that keeps the water cooler. In the winter time, they stay in deep holes surrouded by shallow water.
Musky eat a wide variety of foods. They can strike on most any kind of bait. Size and action of the bait matter more than the color of the bait you choose. The pros use big baits to catch big bish. They even use lures up to a foot in length. You need heavy tackle for lures this size.
Musky can chase the bait even as far as to the edge of your boat , then suddenly turn away. They are an un predictable fish. I have heard that you can still catch these large musky if you let them get close to the boat and dip the end of your rod into the water as far as you can and make large figure eight patterns. It aggitates them enough to strike.
Always use a steel leader when fishing for musky because they have very sharp teeth and will cut through a standard line.
When musky are in a weedy bed, spinner bait is hard to beat. You can catch more musky in weedy beds this way.
You can use minnow baits on the surface because they also like to bite at live bait.
When Musky are being stubborn and picky, nothing beats a live bait!

Fishing For Bass In Our Boat
I had never fished a whole lot in my life, so I never really had the desire. We had three boys, so I figured it was time to start. One afternoon, my wife suggested we take the boys fishing. We went to a close by lake and sat on the shore and watched the kids teasing the little bluegill and sunfish. It was quite ammusing.
My wife had fished a lot as a child and really had a passion for it, so she convinced me we would do this again the following Saturday. We stopped at a local bait store and purchased our fishing licenses and some night crawlers.
We got to the lake and watched the kids catching small fish. We caught a few small bluegill, perch, and sunfish, and a few nice bass. It really got me "HOOKED." As we fished from the shore, I watched all the boats out on the lake. I wondered if we caught so many little ones from the edge, then what could we catch from the middle!
The following year, we bought our first boat! We named her "Little Red." We have since then very much enjoyed that boat. We spent every Saturday out on that lake in our boat. We got to know the lake pretty well. We got to know where all the hot spots on the lake were at, and we got to know how to use our lures very well. Fishing was now deep in my blood! I joined North American Fishing Club that year too.
I made myself a life time member.
To me, there is nothing better than a Saturday out on the lake in our little fishing boat!

Fishing For Bass
It was the end of August and we had fished all day. The fish bit pretty good on and off all day. We decided to make a whole day and evening of it. We packed lunch and supper and stayed a while longer.
As evening became darker, the fish were jumping wildly, eating bugs in the air above the water's surface. We had used night crawlers all day, and just before dark my son had caught a very nice bass on a night crawler, so we continued to use the night crawlers. He was very excited about his catch.
Soon, myself, my wife, and all three boys were catching bass one right after another. They were all rather nice bass, but we were just sport fishing this day. We took some nice pictures then freed the fish back into the lake. It was a great fishing day indeed.

As evening came on, the fishing got even better! We were catching fish of all kinds. My wife caught a unique fish too. After carefully examining the species, we found it to be a burbot. We caught large perch, sunfish, bluegill, rock bass, and crappy. What a great time it was! The kids were so excited because they were catching dozens of fish of all species.
I cast into a weed bed, and left my nightcrawler dangle. Then after about five minutes, I felt a huge tug and it nearly took my pole into the water, as I was not prepared.
I couldn't imagine what it might be as it darted and fought like a trout. I fought that fish for what seemed like forever. I finally got it to the side of the boat. It was a pike! A 42 inch pike! What a beautiful fish it was. The kids, of course had to see it and feel it, and then it was released and swam away quickly.
What a great day of fishing! If you would like to read more of my stories click the links below.

Fishing At Kahle Lake
It was the first fishing trip of the year and we decided to take the boat to Kahle lake, so we loaded up all of our fishing gear and bait, and headed off to the lake . When we got there it was cloudy but it wasn't raining, so we launched the boat and went up the lake to our favorite spot to fish.
It wasn't very long before we got a bite, but it was just a little bluegill that my wife caught, so she threw it back because we were looking for big bass . It was just a little while later that I got my first bite. It was a small large mouth bass. It was only about ten inches long, so I put it back . We knew the bass were biting that day,so we kept at it.
A short time later, we hear our youngest son yell, "I got a big one," but we figured it was just a bluegill he was dragging threw the seaweed, so we kept on fishing, but to our surprise, it was a fourteen inch large mouth he had reeled in . It was the biggest fish he had ever caught . He was awfully disappointed when we told him to put it back because it wasn't legal .
That was all the fish we caught that day because it started to rain. We then loaded up our boat for the day and went home with a great story to tell.
We learned some new fishing techniques from the North American Fishing Club and from
Bass Fishing Basics Ebook we found online through clickbank.

Bass Fishing Story 1
One hot summer day, me and my wife were out fishing in our boat . Even though
they were calling for rain, we stuck it out and were having pretty good luck catching
some bluegill and some small pirch..... when it happened !!!!!!
My wife cast out along the edge of some weeds, and suddenly her bobber went under. She pulled up on her pole to set the hook and said, "oh god it's a big one." Just as she started to reel it in it, started to rain .It was pouring, but she kept fighting that fish! She wanted it badly! She cranked and pulled. It was fighting her all the way. Finally, she got it to the boat where I could scoop it out with the net .It was a 22 inch large mouth that weighed 5 1/2 pounds . It was definatly a keeper!
About fifteen minutes later the rain stoped ,so I cast back into the same area .
I let my line set there a few minutes ,when suddenly I felt a tug on my line .I set
the hook and started reeling it in.I could feel it was another nice sized fish, so
I told my wife to get the net ready .When I got it to the boat she scooped it out and
said, "thats a nice one". It was a large mouth a little bigger than hers. It weighed 6 1/4 pounds and was 24 inches long.

Cat Fishin'
My wife and I and my three boys have been doing a lot of fishing over the past couple years. "A lot" doesn't say enough. Spring through fall, we have fished every Saturday, rain or shine, especially since we bought our first boat.
We have fished many lakes, however we had never tried "Little Red" (our boat) on the river. We had set our favorite spot on the lake. We always found ourselves going back to the same lake and fishing the same spot. We fished panfish and bass. We like the lakes because my wife and I can catch bass, but the kids can still have fun and keep the "fishin' fever" because they can catch hundreds of panfish a day!
But this year we want more! We can't wait to hit the rivers and go after the big Channel Cats. I want to land one this year like the one above! We have been sitting in our recliners all winter watching "Catfishin' America" getting the fishing blues.
I recommend the ebook for cat fish bait formulas at this link below:

It's been a great time reeling in those bass, but now it's time to go Large! Imagine pulling in a beast like that!
We will see you on the rivers!
